Ryder Cup European Development Trust

The Ryder Cup European Development Trust (RCEDT) was formed to support grassroots golf across Europe with the goal of getting more people to play golf, progress and achieve success.

RCEDT uses its share of the net winnings from European Ryder Cup matches to contribute to golf projects across the continent. This reflects the large international reach of the event and offers the opportunity to give something back to the sport.

The Trust was formed in 2004 when a new agreement was reached with Ryder Cup Europe to include the European PGAs at the RCEDT. In addition to the PGA of Great Britain and Ireland and the European Tour, a 20/20/60 split was created.

Since then, the Trust has supported over 35 projects in more than 30 countries, with over £2.2 million in funds awarded to projects ranging from free lessons at European Tour events, golf initiatives for the disabled, to junior and educational programmes are sufficient.
